How Are Those New Year Resolutions Going?

This year, I’ve decided to set goals. Goals for my writing, goals for my health/weight loss, and goals for my social life. So far, on the 26th day of January, I haven’t stuck to any of those goals. I haven’t written 1000 words a day. To be honest, I’ve been reading for friends and that is taking priority right now. So it’s not like I’m just veggin’ out on the couch—yeah, I’m making excuses-lol.

I haven’t been to the gym at all this month. Granted, I’ll be getting the Zumba Fit for Wii this weekend, so I plan to be svelte by summer…tee-hee.

And as for my social life…I’ve been to one party. It was a football party and there were more women there than men. So…um, yeah, not the best place to meet a man. In my defense, the weather has sucked. I’m supposed to go to happy hour this Friday, but they are calling for more snow!
Snow, Snow, go away. Little Karen wants to play! I haven’t given up on my goals for 2011. It’s still early. I WILL get on track.

Tell me, have your resolutions/goals fallen by the wayside already? If not, share your secret to keeping your word to yourself. I could use the help!

That comic is funny :) I'm trying to stay on track with my goals. It's hard, though!

Thanks Misha, sadly they're calling for another 8in tomorrow :(

Sherry, staying on track is the hardest part. But I keep picturing where I want to be in May, June, July and Aug and it makes me walk away from that cake-lol. As for the writing, when I can't get it in, the next best thing is reading and I've been doing plenty of that.

I've only made one resolution, and that's to write and read more. I did just get the Move pack for my Playstation3, and was up until midnight playing bocce ball and frisbee golf. My arm's even a little sore today, so I really should make a resolution to play it more.

I have been reading more, and I did just rewrite my wip with more povs, and now I really feel like I'm on the right track, so I guess I'm doing okay.

Good luck with your resolutions, Karen, and I hope the snow goes somewhere else. (Or you could move to New Orleans, where it snows once in a blue moon!)

My resolution was to be tidier (eep!) and to have one work-free day per week. I'm not doing so well on the tidy thing, but the work-free day is going okay! Good luck with yours!

LOL Tere. I was just telling my sister about Evangeline (Which I'm loving thus far) and we both decided we were going to take a trip to the Big Easy some time soon. I've been once when I was a kid, but that hardly counts since I wasn't able to see all the good parts-lol. So don't be surprised if I knock on your door one day-lol. Oh, and I should totally add "play more Wii" to my list as well.

Talli, I'd love to add be tidier to my list, but man, that would be a hard one to keep-lol. Good luck to you!

Havenly done Zumba for Wii, but I do ti at the gym and it's fantastic!!! Love it!!!

I am doing pretty well with my New year's resolutions/goals. I wanted to eat more veggies...been doing well. I needed to bump up promotion, and so far so good.

Oh Stephanie! I loved Ti when I took a class years ago, and kick boxing too. Eating more veggies is always a good goal. Good luck on the promotions. It sounds like fun!

Ha! I never make resolutions because I NEVER stick to them.

Goals, I have. Write more. But not 1000 words a day. That's too much to expect. More like 250, ha ha!

And visit others' blogs more. That I've been doing!

Good luck with your resolutions, Karen. You can do it!

And I'm sick of the snow too.

So far I'm doing okay on my resolutions. I could be doing better though....

Joanne, I think you've a point with the word count. I think I might drop it to 500. That's doable for the present.

Good for you, Melissa! At least someone is sticking to their resolutions. I'm getting there.
